Dyk Brooker

Dyk Brooker, another Oxford street performer like Colonel Mustard, who I'd painted earlier. This canvas measures 50 x 42 cms and was painted from some photos that I took after I'd done a quick sketch or two.
He played early seventeenth century folk tunes on his squeezebox around the Oxford area throughout the year.
I chattered to him one chilly early spring day in New Inn Hall Street after I'd put a couple of quid in his old box. A lovely chap who sadly is no longer with us.
RIP Dyk, you gave many people a great deal of happiness,as his little collecting tin had written on it, "God Bless You"
