Giannipolo, Venice

San Giannipolo, next to the Ospedale in Venice is the local name for the church of San Giovanni e Polo. On a blisteringly hot July afternoon I painted this West entrance for two and a half hours.

The finished painting on canvas board measures 42 x 35 cms.
